About these terms
This website, killingcancerkindly.org, is run by Killing Cancer Kindly (KCK), a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered in England and Wales, charity number 1200040. Our registered address is 9 Jesmond Road, Cottingham, England HU16 4NG.
These terms apply to everyone who uses this website. By using it, you accept them. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.
Health information
Everything we publish is general information, not personal medical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from your own doctor or clinical team. Always speak to a qualified professional about your own health, and never delay seeking advice because of something you read here.
If you think you or someone else needs urgent help, call 999 in the UK, or your local emergency number elsewhere. For urgent advice that is not an emergency in the UK, call NHS 111.
We work hard to keep our information accurate and we review it regularly, but medical knowledge changes. We cannot promise that every page is complete or up to date at the moment you read it.
Free health tools
Our BMI check, site search and other free tools help you find KCK’s information. They give general information only. They cannot diagnose you, measure your personal cancer risk or tell you what treatment is right for you, and their answers may sometimes be incomplete or not fit your situation.
These tools run inside your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us. See our privacy notice for more.
Using this site
You are welcome to read, share and link to our pages. Please use the site lawfully and do not:
- try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it;
- upload or send anything harmful, such as viruses;
- pretend to be KCK, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we support you or your product when we do not.
Donations
When online donations are open, they are processed by Stripe on its secure payment page. KCK never sees your full card details. Stripe’s own terms also apply to the payment.
- Monthly donations are taken each month until you ask us to stop. To change or stop one, email us and we will cancel it before the next payment where we can.
- Mistakes: if you donated the wrong amount or by mistake, email us within 30 days and we will refund it.
- How gifts are used: donations fund KCK’s charitable work. Our trustees decide how they are spent, in line with the charity’s purpose and approved plans.
If something goes wrong with a donation, please contact us and we will help.
Books and the shop
Our books are sold through Amazon. When you buy from Amazon, you are buying from Amazon or its sellers, and Amazon’s own terms, prices, delivery and returns rules apply.
Content & copyright
Our guides, stories, illustrations, photos, videos and branding belong to Killing Cancer Kindly, or to the people who allowed us to use them, unless we say otherwise.
You may quote or share short extracts for personal, educational or non-commercial use, as long as you name KCK and link back to the original page. Please do not copy whole guides, books or illustrations, or use our content commercially, without asking us first.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, such as the NHS, research sources, Amazon and social media. We are not responsible for their content, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.
Our responsibility
We provide this website free of charge for general information. As far as the law allows, KCK is not responsible for any loss or harm that comes from relying on the information on this site, or from the site being unavailable.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit.
Changes and law
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
