Choose a useful way to support KCK

You can help KCK share reliable information, strengthen its work and reach suitable communities. Start with the contribution that fits your time, skills and circumstances.

Start by understanding the work

A useful contribution begins with a clear view of what KCK does and what is still being developed. KCK focuses on prevention information, school and community education, creative health stories, responsible research and kinder public communication.

The charity works within its current capacity. Sending an expression of interest does not create a volunteer role, paid position, placement, reference, partnership or right to represent KCK. KCK will only agree work that has a suitable purpose, owner and safe way to deliver it.

Share reliable information

One simple way to help is to share a KCK page with someone who may find it useful. Choose the original page rather than copying a sentence without its context, review date or source.

When sharing medical information, keep the limits with the claim. Do not tell another person that an action will prevent cancer, that a tool has measured their risk or that KCK can diagnose or treat them.

Connect KCK with an organisation

A relevant introduction can be valuable when it has a clear purpose. Tell KCK who the organisation is, why the connection may benefit the public and whether you have permission to make the introduction.

Do not share another person’s private contact details without their permission. A connection does not mean that KCK or the other organisation has agreed a partnership, sponsorship or endorsement.

Donate when the secure route is available

A donation can support KCK’s approved charitable work across prevention information, education, community activity and responsible development.

KCK does not currently publish fixed donation-to-outcome promises, spending percentages or a Gift Aid claim. A donation does not buy medical advice, treatment, screening, referral or research access.

Offer time or skills

KCK welcomes expressions of interest from people who can offer relevant, practical help. Needs change over time, so the form asks what you can contribute rather than presenting a permanent list of vacancies.

Offer your time or skills
  • Plain-language writing or careful editing.
  • Medical, scientific, public-health or education review within a defined scope.
  • Teaching, facilitation or school and community experience.
  • Illustration, design, video, animation or accessible content production.
  • Translation or cultural adaptation of approved material.
  • Website, data, measurement or user-research skills.
  • Fundraising, operations or practical event support.
  • A useful introduction to a school, community, university, healthcare or business organisation.

What to include in your expression of interest

  • Your name, country and preferred contact email.
  • The skill, experience or connection you can offer.
  • An example or link that helps KCK understand your work, if relevant.
  • The amount of time or type of contribution you have in mind.
  • Any location, language, accessibility or scheduling considerations.
  • Any employer, funding, commercial or other interest that should be clear.
  • Whether you are aged 18 or over. KCK should not accept volunteer enquiries from children through the general form.

What happens next

KCK will review the information against its current needs, mission, capacity and responsibilities. It may ask for more detail, propose a limited conversation or keep the expression of interest for an approved period if the privacy arrangements allow.

Not every offer will lead to work. If KCK wants to continue, it should explain the task, contact person, expected time, confidentiality, expenses, safeguarding, data, intellectual-property and approval arrangements before the person begins.

A contribution should feel clear

Before any work begins, you should know what you are being asked to do, who your KCK contact is, how your contribution may be used and how to raise a practical concern. If those details are not clear, ask before proceeding.

For organisations

Support education and community activity

Schools, universities, community organisations and healthcare settings can discuss a suitable education idea with KCK. An individual can help by introducing an authorised contact or sharing the Work with us page.

KCK considers the audience, topic, evidence, capacity, safeguarding, accessibility, cost and responsibilities before agreeing an activity. Do not advertise a KCK visit until both sides have confirmed it.

What KCK does not currently offer

KCK cannot provide personal medical or emotional support through volunteering or involvement forms. Use an appropriate official service or healthcare professional for those needs.
